Something Fantastic
Indulge me for 5 minutes...
I wanted to do a mini-stack - a staquette, if you will – just to share something that I’m very proud of. I’ve got a (small) piece in the new issue of Fantastic Man.
For anyone that knows me, you’ll know my love for this magazine.
For those that don’t, well, suffice it to say that Fantastic Man has been my reference point for not only fashion and editorial, but for the way that’ve charted the evolution of masculinity across the last 20-something years. It’s magazine as experimental, sociological document. My fave type.
Anyway, my article is an homage to an old Ab Fab episode (Patsy and Eddie’s infamous hunt for the perfect doorhandle), through the prism of the ritziest fashion stores in Paris, on Avenue Montaigne. It sits alongside plenty of other diverse, diverting and directional articles in the front of the magazine, as well as some fabulous shoots and interviews.
I don’t want this to sound like a LinkedIn updated, and I know I’m being very British about it, but I’m really, genuinely, super-thrilled every time I get to see my name in print. Especially in FM. A big thanks to Seb Emina, and to EICs Gert and Jop for having me (and for the lovely note).
Want to read the whole thing? But on fantasticman.com or skate on down to your local independent magazine retailer:
Paris: Bonjour Jacob, Cahier Central, 0fr, Smith & Son, Yvon Lambert
London: Artwords, Good News Soho, Magculture, Shreeji
NYC: Casa Magazines
Other retailers are, of course, available. And thanks for indulging me!
PS: Hopefully there’s more to come…I’m already lining up something special for the next issue of Dapper Dan…

Staquette, Casquette, Pepette, Jacket.
Can’t wait to have you sign mine.
Congrats !
😍 Love this Seb, well done. I remember being excited when I suggested a topic for their old community site (curated by C.Porter) on ramen recommendations in Paris, and that wasn’t even print!
